To minister can be defined as "to give aid or service". There are various ways to minister within the Church and we hope to provide a variety of these opportunities.

Ministries may overlap and obviously, members of the church family can partake in more than one type. Depth of involvement is strictly a personal choice. There is ministry in fellowship with other believers, in evangelism, ministry of healing, and ministry to the congregation as well as our community, both local and global.

Come, learn what we have to offer. Our ministries are constantly changing, expanding, meeting the needs of a dynamic group of believers. We strive to be a source: a source of assistance, a source of knowledge, and a source of encouragement.

A life-long process and vital part of our Christian walk

* Children's Sunday School - In addition to our popular program (including separate classes for Preschool, Grade School, Junior High, and High School) we also offer a variety of adult classes (childcare is available).

* Dialoguers - This all-ages adult group, led by Duane King, spotlights varying Christian themes. Open discussion with new topics approximately every eight weeks. Currently we are studying the book of Leviticus.

* Pathfinders - If you are an adult interested in an in-depth study of the Gospels, this all-ages adult class, led by Emmit Lehman would be perfect as we work through the Gospel of John.

* Topical Study - Terry Kochersperger leads the third adult class option. Currently, he is leading a book/video series entitled "Case For The Creator" written by Lee Strobel.

All Sunday School classes begin at 9:45am each Sunday. Dismissal is at 10:30, allowing ample time to grab a donut and some coffee or juice prior to the start of our Worship service at 10:45am.

Rev. Kurt Flemming, our Associate Pastor of Families with Children, has served in this role for ten years. He and his wife Vickie are both alumni of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA and Kurt teaches at Westlake Christian Academy. They have two school school aged children and a preschooler. Vickie is an aerobics instructor and they both participate on our Worship Team. Kurt has completed his Master's Degree at Trinity. His passion is to creatively and effectively present the word of God. "I am so glad I have the opportunity to work with kids. They love to learn and have fun while doing it - just like me. They are also at the most likely age to make life-shaping and eternity-impacting decisions."

In addition to the Teen Sunday School class offered every week, we have a vibrant and exciting Youth Group.

All kids from sixth grade and up are invited to join us every Thursday Night from 6:30 – 8:00 for our Next Level student ministry. We begin each meeting with games and lots of fun. We then move into a time of praise and worship and Danny preaches the Word of God. We also have many fun-filled activities that have included a visit to Six Flags Great America, movie and game nights, an annual ski retreat, and MUCH MORE.

Danny Taylor is our talented Associate Pastor of Teens and their Families. In addition to serving at Mundelein Church of the Nazarene, he is also presently in the Master of Divinity program at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Serving alongside Danny is his wife Evangeline. They were married in May, 2004 and have two sons, Nathan and Matthew. Danny's door is always open and he ministers not only the Youth but their families as well.

Similar to the role of women themself, Women's Ministry serves a variety of purposes.

As listed in the Mission Statement, the goal of Women's Ministry is to:

* REACH all women of our church.
* DISCIPLE women to follow Christ.
* BUILD wholeness and balance, spiritually and mentally, through prayer and study of God's word.
* PROVIDE an atmosphere for women to develop their abilities/gifts, find encouragement, build lasting friendships, and touch other women through the power of Christ.
* GLORIFY God in all we do.

The Mission Statement is accomplished through two means:

1. Spiritual opportunities for involvement, including but not limited to Bible studies, prayer meetings, retreats, special speakers, and community outreach events such as American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
2. Quality fellowship events which in the past have included a silent auction, spa night, movies, "pajama party", and many more.

As a church body, we continually strive to meet the needs of our church family, as well as the surrounding communities.

Our ministries may change as various needs become known. We currently offer the following:

* Worship Team - We have a talented group of musicians and are continually looking for others to share in the enthusiasm. No matter the musical training you have had, we welcome you to join our team. Whether you sing or play any type of musical instrument, we have a place for you. Come and help us to worship the Lord through song!
* Drama - Are you a good storyteller? Do you see a movie or play and think "I could do that?" Drama adds to the quality of our Worship and we would love for you to be a part of this exciting ministry. No experience necessary!
* Sports - We offer a variety of activities for you to participate in, some on a casual drop-in basis and some as part of a league. There is a Men's basketball league offered during the winter and softball during the warmer weather months. We also offer indoor volleyball nights as well as open gym evenings and periodic bowling events.
